Litlanesfoss waterfall is another of many Icelandic waterfalls on basalt columns (as is Svartifoss or Aldeyjarfoss to name just some of them). You will definitely encounter this waterfall on your way to Hengifoss. It is 30 meters high and in another surrounding, it might be an attraction, but here, it cannot compete with Hengifoss. But still worth a stop.
How to Find Litlanesfoss:
Litlanesfoss is located 35 kilometers (22 miles) south west of Egilsstaðir. After you park your car at the ‘Hengifoss parking lot’, you have to continue on your own foot for approximately 20-25 minutes uphill.
